Update
What changedBloomberg reports that a data centre near Salt Lake City relied on truck-delivered natural gas for more than a year while waiting for a pipeline connection. The account adds a concrete example of how long the workaround can last when conventional infrastructure is delayed.
The same approach is being used at an OpenAI campus under construction in Texas, Bloomberg says, citing sources. That extends the story beyond Oracle’s own facilities to infrastructure being built for an AI company.
The new details show both the duration and reach of the strategy: trucks can keep a site operating while a permanent gas connection is pending, and the approach is also being applied at a separate AI campus. Bloomberg does not give the amount of gas delivered or further details of the Texas deployment.
