What changedGoogle DeepMind says Genie 4 can generate audio alongside an interactive world, including ambient sounds, music and dialogue. The company says the model can also respond to natural-language prompts in real time, changing details such as the weather or adding a person or object while keeping the scene coherent.
The model builds on the Gemini family: Google says Gemini Omni anchors simulations in real-world appearance and behaviour, while other Gemini models help maintain continuity. Users can steer scenes with text prompts and keyboard controls, according to Google.
Genie 4 is now rolling out as a research preview to trusted testers. Google says access will start with Google AI Ultra subscribers through Project Genie, alongside early-access partners using the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, before a wider release to consumers and developers.
