What changedGoogle DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis has now joined Musk and Altman in backing the direction of Dario Amodei’s call to pace frontier AI development. According to Anadolu Ajansı, Hassabis said the details still need work and connected Amodei’s proposal to DeepMind’s call for an industry-wide standards body for frontier AI.
That broadens the alignment across rival labs, but it still falls well short of an agreed slowdown or enforceable oversight regime. The useful next test is whether the leaders turn congenial public agreement into shared standards, named evaluators and commitments outsiders can inspect.
