What changedThe new details make the agents’ setup more concrete: each Teammate can be given a role, a standing brief and rules for when to bring the user into a task, according to the Free Press Journal’s account of Perplexity’s product information. The report says each Teammate has its own desktop and browser, using the plugins and permissions already installed by the user. That could make it easier for an agent to work across tools, but it also means the permissions granted to the user shape what the agent can access.
Teammates can also run on automations to keep work moving. Perplexity’s cited examples include running ad campaigns, investigating alerts and opening fix requests as an on-call engineer, and conducting legal research.
