What changedPerplexity says Teammates are included free for Max subscribers during a promotional period, but will eventually consume credits. The company has not said when the change will happen or how many credits the agents will use, leaving the long-term cost unclear.
The agents are available on Perplexity for the web now, with mobile availability planned for later. That puts the feature in reach of Max subscribers today, while the $200 monthly subscription remains a steep entry fee.
One example on Perplexity’s site shows a Teammate reading a contract, comparing it with other documents, flagging issues and drafting a response. Useful work, potentially; the credit bill for asking it to do that remains a mystery.
