What changedEinride has put more detail behind its public-road autonomous trucking push, announcing a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to adapt the DRIVE Hyperion platform for heavy-duty freight. The partnership covers compute, sensors, software and safety architecture, rather than a new truck launch.
Einride says its freight network could grow to 1,500 to 2,000 vehicles by 2028, based on customer demand already captured on its platform. The company says roughly 80% of that demand is suitable for automation in the medium term, although that is Einride’s projection, not a confirmed deployment schedule.
The company will use NVIDIA’s Hyperion and Halos systems, Blackwell infrastructure and Cosmos tools to train, test and refine its own autonomous-driving stack. Einride says Cosmos will help search camera data for difficult edge cases and create synthetic scenarios for validation, while it remains responsible for safety validation, regulatory approval and customer deployments. The announcement adds a proper operating plan to NVIDIA’s earlier showcase, but the hard evidence will be approved vehicles doing useful freight work outside the brochure.
