What changedAMD’s shares climbed as high as $613.92 on Monday, briefly taking the company’s market value above $1 trillion. The move made AMD the fourth US chipmaker to reach that valuation, after Nvidia, Broadcom and Micron, according to Daily Sabah’s account of the rally.
The stock was last reported up about 9% at roughly $610, extending a five-day run in which shares gained around 24%. That is a more substantial signal than a valuation milestone alone: investors are rewarding AMD for its expanding role in AI computing, even after the company’s recent forecast fell short of lofty expectations and sent the stock down more than 7%.
AMD is also pushing beyond individual processors and accelerators, with complete systems combining CPUs, networking equipment and related hardware. The company is increasingly positioned as Nvidia’s closest GPU rival, while its server CPUs are benefiting from demand for inference workloads and taking market share from Intel. The valuation says investors see a larger AI infrastructure business ahead. Revenue, margins and delivery still have to make the case in less glamorous detail.
Sources and evidence- AMD joins $1 trillion club as last chipmaker to cash in on AI rally – Daily Sabah: AMD briefly exceeded a $1 trillion market capitalisation as shares reached $613.92, while its expanding AI systems and server-CPU strategy gives investors a broader growth case beyond individual chips.
