What changedAMD briefly crossed a $1 trillion market value on Monday, peaking at $615.99 a share before slipping back below the milestone. The stock later stood at $609.65, up more than 8%, leaving the company valued at about $995 billion, according to Yahoo Finance.
The move made AMD the fourth US chipmaker to pass the $1 trillion mark, after Nvidia, Broadcom and Micron. The wider session also showed investors piling into semiconductor names: Intel rose 12.03% to $121.67, Arm gained 15.47%, and Nvidia added 2.33%.
Yahoo Finance links the enthusiasm partly to expectations that Meta’s consumer AI agent Muse will increase demand for CPUs working alongside graphics processors. That is an investor thesis, not an AMD order announcement. The more durable test will be whether demand, pricing and production show up in AMD’s results rather than merely making Monday’s market chart look heroic.
