What changedAMD has joined the $1 trillion valuation club as investors piled into chip stocks benefiting from the artificial-intelligence investment boom. Yahoo Finance UK reports that the shares were up 9.4% at about $612 during Monday’s session, adding roughly $200 billion to AMD’s value in a week.
The move comes with a more concrete business backdrop than market froth alone. Yahoo Finance UK says AMD’s second-quarter revenue rose 50% year on year to $11.5 billion, while data-centre revenue more than doubled. AMD also expects data-centre sales to accelerate in the second half of 2026.
That makes the milestone a useful signal of investor confidence in AMD’s AI opportunity, not proof that the company has caught Nvidia. AMD remains far smaller by market value, and the next test is whether stronger demand shows up in sustained revenue, margins and production rather than merely producing another heroic-looking stock chart.
Sources and evidence- AMD hits $1 trillion market cap for first time amid AI boom – Investing.com UK: Yahoo Finance UK reports that AMD entered the $1 trillion valuation club during a sharp share-price rally, against a backdrop of 50% year-on-year quarterly revenue growth and more than doubled data-centre revenue. The valuation remains an investor signal, not independent proof of durable AI-chip dominance.
