Update
What changedNVIDIA’s NV-Reason-CT now comes with reported benchmark results and clinical plausibility reviews from NIH radiologists, adding substance to the company’s open model for analysing full 3D CT scans.
NVIDIA says the model combines a 3D vision transformer with Qwen3.5-4B and scores a Macro-F1 of 0.614 and Macro-AUROC of 0.871 on the CT-RATE benchmark. The company says those results outperform published 3D contrastive and fused 2D/3D baselines.
The company also says NIH radiologists reviewed its structured reports and reasoning traces favourably, arguing that the step-by-step format makes outputs easier to audit. That is still NVIDIA’s account of the evaluation, and NV-Reason-CT remains an open research foundation rather than a cleared autonomous diagnostic product.
