What changedMeta’s new camera-free Ray-Ban Audio glasses will cost £319 in the UK and last up to 12 hours, according to The Guardian. The glasses keep microphones, speakers and access to Meta’s AI assistant, but remove the camera that has made wearable recording such a social flashpoint.
The Guardian reports that the frames will also be sold in Clubmaster and Burbank styles. Meta’s camera-equipped Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses are priced from £409 in the UK, with battery life of up to nine hours and Dolby Atmos support. The camera-free model is therefore cheaper, lighter on privacy baggage and, at least on paper, better suited to ordinary public use.
