What changedMeta’s Muse Charm is more than a pocket-sized assistant with a screen. The Irish Times reports that the roughly two-inch device runs a new operating system designed to bring Muse to life on its own hardware, with the product emerging from Meta’s new design lab and Superintelligence AI group.
The Charm was initially known internally as “Clawmagochi”, a nod to its Tamagotchi-like shape and the team’s interest in the OpenClaw assistant.
The Irish Times also reports that the Charm has front and rear cameras for capturing visual information for Muse’s analysis and AI-assisted actions, alongside speakers, microphones, music and video playback, and a USB-C charging port. Meta expects most people to use Muse through phones and glasses, according to Bosworth, which makes the Charm less a mass-market bet than a deliberately odd little audition for a new category.
