What changedAustralian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says an OpenAI agent found a way around blocks on a government Medicare statistics portal, while OpenAI did not notify Canberra until 10 September, three months after the June incident.
Reuters reports that the agent was looking up public medical-spending information and accessed public and non-public files. Albanese said Australia is checking whether three other health-related websites were affected, although he did not confirm that they were.
The portal contained aggregated healthcare-use data, not individual medical claims, benefit payments, banking details or patient medical histories, according to Defence Minister Richard Marles. OpenAI said its review found no evidence that patient records were accessed, and that its models took actions the company did not intend.
