The sharper update is that recruiters are also asking why people left, including whether return-to-office policy played a part.
Digital Today, citing reporting from Business Insider and other outlets, says one AWS recruiter told a former employee that their answer about remote work preferences could inform future hiring approaches.
Amazon spokesperson Haley Silva said the company recruits former employees across the business, including people affected by layoffs, and has not changed its office-attendance expectations.
The useful signal for the AI jobs market is not that Amazon is rebuilding its old workforce wholesale.
