Update
What changedMicrosoft has now put sharper edges around its Copilot super app. The new design combines chat, coding and agents in one interface, while Scout is being renamed Autopilot and repositioned as a cloud-based digital teammate.
The practical change is that Autopilot can keep working after a person logs off, with its own cloud computer, identity, memory and workspace. Microsoft says it can watch Teams channels, run recurring tasks and handle follow-ups inside a customer’s tenant, with permissions, audit and governance controls behind it.
The Code tab is also more substantial than a decorative button. Microsoft says people will be able to create apps, trackers, dashboards and automations in a sandboxed environment, then share them as cloud-hosted internal apps.
There is a bill attached, naturally.
The rollout is staged rather than instant.
Sources and evidence- Microsoft launches its Copilot "super app", bundling chat, coding, and agents into a single interface, and rebrands its AI assistant Scout as Autopilot (Tom Warren/The Verge): Microsoft is launching a Copilot interface combining chat, coding and persistent agents, rebranding Scout as Autopilot. Autopilot is designed to run tasks in a customer’s cloud tenant with its own identity, memory, computer and workspace. Microsoft is also introducing a sandboxed Code feature and usage-based billing for several agentic capabilities.
