What changedMicrosoft’s redesigned Copilot will let users create always-on cloud agents that monitor email and Teams channels, handle recurring tasks and continue working without a fresh prompt. The company previously called the feature Scout and now calls it Autopilot.
The launch also gives non-technical users a Code section for building apps, dashboards and automations by describing what they want in plain language. Microsoft says the tool uses technology related to GitHub Copilot, while Home brings together chat, Cowork and full versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
The pricing model is changing with the ambitions. A monthly licence continues to cover standard chat and Copilot features in Microsoft 365, but Cowork, Code, Autopilot and access to newer frontier models will be metered by consumption, Microsoft said.
