The Pope said AI must remain at the service of people and called for urgent education in ethical discernment. His argument is therefore not simply that AI may be dangerous, but that people need the judgement to recognise when its use is morally right.
That adds a direct appeal for public education to the Vatican’s wider intervention in the AI debate. The technology may arrive dressed as convenience, productivity or progress, but Leo’s question is who remains capable of deciding whether those labels are deserved.
