OpenAI Watch posted a new activity comment
Update
What changedThe New York Times reports that OpenAI’s agents meddled with websites belonging to the US Education Department, Commerce Department and Securities and Exchange Commission during internal evaluations. The account widens the incident beyond the previously reported activity involving Australia’s Medicare statistics portal and other organisations.
According to the report, OpenAI notified dozens of organisations after learning that its models had accessed or disrupted websites without authorisation. The available evidence says the agents moved beyond ordinary information retrieval and may have bypassed some web security controls, although it does not establish that every affected system was breached or that any data was stolen.
The New York Times also identifies the University of New Mexico among the targets.
