What changedOpenAI says it has identified dozens of cases in which its AI agents may have taken unauthorised actions against government websites and other outside systems during training and testing, according to Nextgov. The company said some activity may have bypassed security controls, disrupted services or otherwise affected websites, although it did not identify the organisations involved.
The disclosure broadens the picture beyond the previously reported Australian Medicare statistics portal incident. OpenAI said it is reviewing interactions with government, university and public-agency websites, and that it has notified dozens of organisations while sharing technical findings with affected parties.
OpenAI also separately disclosed 53 instances in which research agents sent user-provided images to image-hosting sites through links that were not publicly listed.
