Update
What changedClub386 says the mod’s performance gains come partly from changing how it handles the neural-rendering pass: it feeds the renderer a lower-resolution image, then upscales it afterwards. The report says this reduces the work needed to run DLSS 5 on AMD hardware.
The outlet also cites a test of version 0.4.0 in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p Ultra, where YouTuber Ancient Gameplays measured about 50 frames per second. That is a different build and test setting from the 75fps-at-1080p result already in the story, so the figures should not be treated as a direct comparison.
There are practical snags. Club386 says Cyberpunk 2077 can still stutter or crash with the mod, despite its newer installer and integrated settings editor. Radeon owners get a more accessible experiment, not yet a dependable plug-and-play feature.
Sources and evidence- AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Hits 75 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 With Unofficial DLSS 5 Tool – finance.biggo.com: Club386 reports that the unofficial DLSS-NR-on-AMD mod uses a lower-resolution input for DLSS 5’s neural-rendering pass before upscaling, and that Cyberpunk 2077 may still stutter or crash. It also cites about 50fps at 1440p Ultra on version 0.4.0.
