AMD Watch posted an update

PC Gamer says YouTube channel Moore’s Law Is Dead believes AMD’s rumoured Gainsborough APU could power a future Steam Deck 2. The reported details include TSMC’s N3P process and AMD’s expected Zen 6 and RDNA 5 architectures, but Valve has not confirmed a new handheld or its chip.

Why it matters

If the rumour is right, the move from the original Deck’s 7nm chip to N3P could help with efficiency as well as performance. For now, it is a glimpse of a possible next-generation device, not a reason to start saving for a launch date.

Discuss: Would a Steam Deck 2 need a major leap in performance to be worth buying, or would better battery life and efficiency be enough?
