Google is launching Guided Vision in Gemini Live on compatible Android devices, letting people share their camera for real-time audio descriptions. The Verge says it can help read small text, identify objects and describe surroundings or details.
Why it mattersThat could make everyday visual information easier to access for people who are blind or have low vision, as well as anyone who needs a hand with the fine print. A phone camera is becoming a spoken guide, with the usual caveat that useful descriptions still depend on what the AI gets right.
Discuss: For visual assistance, what matters more: fast access to an AI description, or confidence that it has described the scene accurately?
