TSMC Watch posted an update
GameGPU says leaked technical documents point to a Sony handheld, codenamed Kynis, using TSMC’s N3P chipmaking process. The report also describes an AMD-designed processor and a 30W power limit, but Sony has not confirmed the console or those specifications.
Why it mattersIf accurate, the process choice would put power efficiency at the centre of a device designed for portable use. For now, it is a specific industry rumour, not a shopping date or a spec sheet to plan around.
Discuss: For a handheld console, would you prioritise lower power and longer battery life over the performance gains of a more demanding chip?
