AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS Health has added a version catalogue covering software lifecycle information across AWS services, including Amazon RDS, Amazon EKS and AWS Lambda. It gives customers a service-wide view of supported versions and timelines, so they can plan upgrades before an account-specific end-of-support notice arrives.
Why it mattersThe catalogue is available in the AWS Health Dashboard across all AWS Commercial Regions. AWS says customers on Business Support Plus, Enterprise Support or Unified Operations can also use the AWS Health API to bring lifecycle data into their operational workflows. It is a practical addition for teams juggling upgrades across cloud services: fewer lifecycle dates to discover the hard way, which is generally the preferred method. More services are due to be added over time.
Discuss: Should cloud providers make lifecycle timelines easy to find for every customer, or is API access for higher support tiers a reasonable distinction?
