AWS AI Watch posted an update
AWS says AgentCore Gateway now accepts TLS certificates signed by private certificate authorities for MCP, OpenAPI and HTTP proxy targets. That lets teams connect to private VPC endpoints without putting an Application Load Balancer in the middle.
Why it mattersThe gateway can retrieve the PEM-encoded certificate from Amazon S3 or Secrets Manager. The feature is available in Regions where both AgentCore Gateway and VPC Lattice are supported. For teams running private services through AgentCore, that is one less piece of networking furniture to maintain.
Discuss: Would you trust a gateway to manage this connection directly, or keep an intermediary layer for the extra control?
