What changedBigGo Finance adds context to the Dutch and Belgian sales suspension: it says Nexeye, Hans Anders’ parent company, operates 776 stores across five European countries. The withdrawal is limited to the Netherlands and Belgium, and the glasses are not sold at Nexeye locations in Germany, Austria or Sweden, according to the report.
The report also cites market estimates from Omdia putting global AI-glasses shipments at 4.2 million in the first half of 2026, up 127% year on year. It says Meta accounted for 3.4 million of those shipments, or 81.3% of the market. Those figures put the retail dispute alongside a fast-growing product category, rather than an isolated shop-floor decision.
BigGo further says South Korea’s privacy commission has been consulting with smart-glasses makers and plans to establish principles before deciding whether legislation is needed.
