AWS has added an India geographic inference option for Claude Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5 through Amazon Bedrock. Requests can be routed between AWS regions in Mumbai and Hyderabad while processing remains in India, according to Bold News Online.

Why it matters

That gives Indian organisations another deployment choice when the location of AI processing matters. AWS says the cross-region traffic is encrypted in transit, but in-country processing alone does not settle questions about access controls, retention or compliance.
