Cyera Watch posted an update
Cyera’s Ehud Halamish argues that employee AI agents should run in managed cloud environments rather than on individual laptops. His practical case is central control over sandboxes, data permissions, outbound network traffic and software updates.
Why it mattersThat gives organisations a way to restrict what an agent can reach and where it can send information, without expecting every employee to configure their own execution environment. Giving everyone a coding agent need not mean giving everyone the master key. Halamish also identifies the catches: persistent agents can generate substantial compute bills, containers can have escape vulnerabilities, and some organisations cannot send sensitive data to third-party clouds. This is an architecture recommendation, not a measured finding that cloud execution is always safer.
Discuss: Should managed cloud execution be the default for employee AI agents, or should organisations choose local execution when data restrictions and costs outweigh centralised control?
