Ring founder Jamie Siminoff says cameras, locks and other connected devices could become the physical “appendages” of increasingly powerful AI systems in the home.

In a Bloomberg Tech interview, he also discusses Ring’s move beyond its signature video doorbell and growing competition, including Apple’s planned entry into the category. It is a view of where smart-home security might go, not an announcement of a new AI feature. The interesting question is whether AI will make connected home devices more useful, or simply give the same old sensors a grander job title.
