Dazzle is building a personal AI assistant that uses photos and screenshots in a user’s camera roll to infer interests, relationships, travel and belongings, Bloomberg reports. CEO Marissa Mayer says it could then help with tasks such as finding products, arranging repairs and adding events to a calendar.
Why it mattersThat puts a very personal archive at the centre of the assistant’s pitch: useful context, perhaps, but a sizeable invitation to let software know what you own and who you know. The report describes Dazzle’s plans, not a confirmed launch or a product users can try today.
Discuss: Should an assistant be allowed to infer personal details from a camera roll by default, or should every use of that data require explicit permission?
