Elon Musk says a future version of Grok 4.8 will handle most simple Grok Bot requests, with speed and intelligence the stated priorities. The model has not yet come out, so this is a preview of xAI’s intended approach, not a feature users can try today.
Why it mattersIf routine requests go to a faster model, Grok Bot could respond more quickly while reserving heavier systems for harder work. The useful test will be whether the speed gain arrives without making everyday answers noticeably worse.
