OpenAI has reached a reported 40 million active users across Codex and ChatGPT Work, according to a post by thsottiaux on X. The post calls it a new high, though it does not define the period or what counts as active.

The post also says a “banked reset” is being loaded into paid accounts, but gives no details on what changes. A milestone, then, with a reset whose name currently does more work than its explanation.
