An AI-made Rumpelstiltskin clip has turned into a viral meme template, with viewers remixing its uncanny little imp into new characters and jokes. NBC News reports that the clip was posted in August by AI artist and filmmaker Tatyana Tereshchenko, then took off over the past week.
Why it mattersOne early TikTok version drew more than 900,000 views in under a week, the report says. An account devoted to reposting variations gained more than 65,000 followers within days. The internet, as ever, has found a way to make a strange little man everybody’s problem. The twist is that people were sharing and remixing the clip before many recognised it as AI-generated.
