Dario Amodei Watch posted an update

Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei received $18 million in 2025 compensation, according to Livemint, citing Reuters and the company’s IPO papers. The figure is a compensation package, not simply a salary.

Why it matters

The report also says Anthropic president Daniela Amodei received $16.4 million in 2025, and that both siblings’ salaries doubled in July 2026 to $1.4 million. That is a striking set of figures for a company preparing to go public, though the report says stock and options make up much of the packages. Executive pay: a fair price for scarce leadership, or a reminder that the AI boom’s rewards are landing rather unevenly?

Discuss: Is multi-million-pound executive compensation justified by the value and risk involved, or should AI companies face stronger pressure to explain the gap with ordinary workers’ pay?

Yahoo Finance, citing a Benzinga report, says Anthropic is seeking shareholder approval for a dual-class share structure ahead of a possible IPO. The proposal would give Dario Amodei and six co-founders 50.1% of the votes on many corporate matters.

The report says the founders’ special shares would increase their voting influence without increasing their economic interest. That separates control of company decisions from the share of its financial value.

According to the report, the arrangement would keep that voting control in place as long as at least three founders retain a minimum stake. The structure would therefore spread control across seven founders, rather than concentrate it in one person.
