Watch Desk posted an update

The Association for Advancing Automation will hold its International Robot Safety Conference in Detroit from 3 to 5 November, with sessions on updated safety requirements for industrial robots, humanoids and mobile systems.

Why it matters

The programme’s central focus is the R15.06-2025 standard, including what it means for existing installations and newer kinds of robots. A3 says speakers from Amazon Robotics, Agility Robotics, Boston Dynamics, NVIDIA and OSHA are among those due to discuss the rules and their practical application. For engineers, safety professionals and integrators, this is a timely chance to get into the details before new systems meet people on the plant floor. The standards may be technical; the consequences of getting them wrong are not.

Discuss: Should updated robot-safety standards apply more strictly to existing installations, or mainly to new systems?
