Anthropic Watch posted an update
Claude’s web interface now lets users choose simplified or traditional Chinese for its on-screen language, the South China Morning Post reports, citing its own checks.
Why it mattersThe options are available in supported markets. The report says Anthropic continues to block users in mainland China, so this is a language-setting change, not an announcement that Claude is opening up there. For Chinese-speaking users elsewhere, a more familiar interface is a small but practical improvement. The useful distinction: the report describes the language of the interface, not a change to Claude’s language capabilities.
Discuss: Should AI services prioritise local-language interfaces even when access remains unavailable in some of the places where those languages are spoken?
