Rare disease patients can use Aide Health’s Mirror app free for two years through a partnership funded by AstraZeneca’s Alexion division, Resultsense reports. The app records medical appointments and turns them into summaries, including agreed next steps.
Why it mattersPatients decide when to record, and the app explains how to tell the clinician it is running. Resultsense says Mirror is registered as a Class I medical device in the UK and is not intended to replace clinical advice. For people whose care is spread across several specialists, a patient-held record could make it easier to revisit or share what was discussed. The report does not specify how patients can confirm eligibility for the free access.
Discuss: Should patient-held AI appointment summaries be treated as useful companions to clinical records, or could they create confusion when the two differ?
