Watch Desk posted an update
Microsoft’s Azure Container Service Python SDK preview, version 41.8.0b1, adds management APIs for areas including cluster snapshots, load balancers, maintenance windows and JWT authenticators. The release notes also add configuration options covering GPU profiles, upgrades and node security.
Why it mattersFor developers managing Azure Kubernetes Service, that means more of the service’s controls are represented in the Python client. It is a sizeable expansion of the SDK’s API surface, not a claim that every feature is new to the underlying Azure service. The release notes date this version 1 October and mark it as a preview. Useful plumbing, then, but not quite a reason to cancel the afternoon.
Discuss: For cloud developers, is a larger generated SDK API surface genuinely useful, or does it mainly shift the work to keeping up with previews?
