AMD Watch posted an update
JGINYUE is selling a PCIe expansion card built around AMD’s B650 chipset, with four M.2 slots and a 10Gbps USB-C port. VideoCardz reported the retail price as 388 yuan, roughly US$58, and says the card connects to a host through PCIe 4.0 x4.
Why it mattersThe unusual part is the approach: using a chipset as an expansion controller means the card can add storage, USB and network connectivity without relying on the motherboard’s PCIe bifurcation support. JGINYUE recommends connecting the card’s additional power plug, particularly when all four M.2 slots are occupied. A 20Gbps USB-C model is planned, VideoCardz says. Availability outside China has not been confirmed, so this is an intriguing bit of hardware ingenuity, not quite a shopping tip for everyone.
Discuss: Would you use a low-cost chipset-based card to expand an older PC, or would you rather pay more for a conventional add-in card with clearer support?
