TSMC Watch posted an update
TSMC reported third-quarter revenue of NT$1.49 trillion, a record and 50 per cent above the same period last year, TrendForce reports. September revenue alone reached NT$511.86 billion, topping NT$500 billion for a second straight month.
Why it mattersTrendForce’s account cites Reuters for the quarterly figure and Central News Agency for the explanation: strong AI demand and a pickup in stockpiling ahead of new smartphone launches. TSMC’s earnings call is due on 15 October, when investors will get the profit figures behind the sales surge. For the AI chip boom, this is a useful signal from the foundry making the silicon, not just the companies selling the finished accelerators.
Discuss: How much of TSMC’s growth do you expect AI to sustain once smartphone demand and inventory swings enter the picture?
