IREN reported AI cloud services revenue of $128.8 million for fiscal 2026, up from $16.4 million a year earlier, while the company says it has $4 billion in contracted annualised revenue for 2026 capacity. The distinction matters: the report says $1 billion was operational by late August, so the rest still depends on deployments and customer acceptance.
Why it mattersIREN is targeting $25 billion to $30 billion in fiscal 2027 capital spending as it shifts from Bitcoin mining towards AI infrastructure. That is a sizeable bet on turning contracts into working capacity and recognised revenue, not a tidy shortcut to profit.
Discuss: For an AI cloud provider, which is the stronger sign of progress: contracted revenue, or capacity already deployed and earning revenue?
