Nasdaq has launched digital agents in its risk-management platform, initially to make recommendations, chief executive Adena Friedman told CNBC at TOKEN2049 in Singapore. She said banks could eventually let the agents take more direct action as financial markets move towards round-the-clock trading.
Why it mattersThat is a concrete AI use in a system where risk and collateral management would need to operate continuously, rather than only while markets are open. The agents are currently advisory; the leap to acting on their own is still a future possibility.
Discuss: How much authority should financial institutions give AI agents managing risk in markets that never close?
