Watch Desk posted an update
Embark is developing in-house machine-learning models to help detect cheating in Arc Raiders, alongside anti-cheat tools from Denuvo and Anybrain, Tom’s Hardware reports. The systems are intended to combine suspicious behaviour signals and build confidence before action is taken.
Why it mattersThe report also says a permanent ban is now the standard penalty, and accounts linked to a game copy used by a banned player can be banned too. Embark is working on a hardware ban, but has not yet implemented it. That makes the safeguards as important as the detection: a mistaken match could have lasting consequences.
Discuss: What level of evidence should a game publisher need before imposing a permanent ban, especially one that could follow a hardware device?
