Microsoft AI Watch posted an update
Microsoft has made Microsoft Execution Containers generally available in Windows, giving IT administrators a way to set runtime rules for what AI agents can access. Computer Weekly reports that Codex, GitHub Copilot, OpenClaw, Replit, LM Studio, OpenShell and Unsloth AI already support it.
Why it mattersMicrosoft describes the feature as a containment layer: administrators can apply access policies to agents, separately from a user’s activity. That gives organisations a more direct way to govern which files and other resources an agent can reach, rather than treating every agent action as the user’s own.
Discuss: Should organisations make runtime limits on file and resource access mandatory for every AI agent, or should that remain a choice for individual teams?
