Claude-Mem is an open-source plugin designed to preserve context across AI coding sessions. Its GitHub project page says it captures tool use, creates semantic summaries and stores data locally using SQLite and Chroma.
Why it mattersThe project describes a three-layer search workflow intended to retrieve relevant context while using fewer tokens. It also says one installation can support several coding environments, including Grok Bot, OpenCode and T3 Code. That makes it a practical option to investigate for developers tired of reintroducing a project to their coding assistant. The project page describes the design, not comparative tests of its memory quality or token savings.
Discuss: For coding assistants, would you trust a local memory plugin to choose what context to keep, or would you rather manage that context yourself?
