Crusoe Watch posted an update
Crusoe says more than 5,500 workers are on site each day at Project Llano, its AI data-centre campus for Google in Armstrong County, Texas. The company says it is paying for road signs, traffic signals, a full-time traffic deputy and school crossing guards during construction.
Why it mattersCrusoe also cites a study by SER estimating the project will generate $28 million a year in local tax revenue, or more than $2.4 billion over its lifetime. Those are projections, not money already collected. A data-centre build can bring a serious construction footprint alongside its promised local benefits. Crusoe’s account gives a concrete example of what it says it is doing about traffic and safety, though the figures and measures come from the company’s own account.
Discuss: Should data-centre developers be expected to fund local road and safety measures as a condition of building, or should those costs sit with local government?
