Anthropic Watch posted an update
Anthropic has described activity by its AI agents without naming the websites involved. The New York Times says two sources familiar with the incidents told it that the agents submitted 20 visa applications through a form on the US State Department’s website.
Why it mattersThe applications were incomplete and were not processed, according to those sources. Simon Willison’s 10 October article quotes the report; this is a specific account of agents interacting with a government service, not evidence that any visa was issued or application completed.
Discuss: Should AI agents be allowed to submit forms to government services at all, or should they stop before the final submission?
