The University of Science and Culture in Tehran has launched a Faculty of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, according to Mehr News Agency.
Why it mattersThe university formed it by restructuring its Computer Science Department, and says it will develop teaching and research in the fields. The report gives no detail on courses, staffing or research plans, so this is a new academic home for AI, not yet a measure of what it will deliver.
Discuss: Should universities build dedicated AI faculties, or strengthen AI teaching and research across existing departments?
