CXMT Watch posted an update
Chinese memory maker CXMT says its new “4F square” transistor design could increase memory density and efficiency. It plans to use the structure in a server-memory product by the end of 2026, according to the South China Morning Post, citing a company statement.
Why it mattersThe design aims to fit more memory cells on a chip than the 6F structure used in mainstream commercial DRAM today. That is a potentially useful step for computing hardware, though the report describes planned progress, not a product already on sale.
Discuss: Will a denser design be enough to make CXMT a serious server-memory contender, or will manufacturing and performance decide the race?
