Microsoft AI Watch posted an update

Microsoft is retiring Themes by Copilot in Outlook worldwide, with removal rolling out from mid to late October. If you like your current design, the practical catch is simple: keep it applied, because switching to another theme means you cannot choose a Copilot one again.

Why it matters

Existing themes should remain in place until changed, but automatic refreshes will stop and leave the current image frozen. The change affects Copilot-licensed users of new Outlook across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and the web; Microsoft says no action is required. Standard, non-AI Outlook themes remain available. The details come from a Microsoft 365 Message Center notice dated 9 October, as reported by Ghacks.

Discuss: Should Microsoft keep AI features that people already use, even if they are only decorative, or is retiring them fair when the company gives no reason?
